William Shatner has been romantically and physically intertwined onscreen with hundreds of beautiful women. In his days as Captain James T. Kirk, he was the intergalactic Don Juan, locking lips with babes of all shapes, sizes and colors (green and blue included), human and non-human alike. He was boldly going where no man had gone before.

Off screen, Shatner has been married four times, including a 21-year marriage to Marcy Lafferty and his current 10-year nuptial to Elizabeth Martin.

Over the years, however, Shatner has been romantically connected to some of the biggest names of the big screen. That is, when he’s not saving the world in his suave, Shatner-esque way. Here are the top 5 beauties (allegedly) romantically linked to Shatner over the years.

Joan Collins

After her cameo as Sister Edith Keller on Star Trek in 1967, there were plenty of reports of an off-screen romance between Shatner and this iconic beauty. At the time, there may have been no better looking couple on this or any planet. Whether their relationship actually got hot and heavy remains a mystery, but this just proves that speculating off-screen romances was just as fun in the late-’60s as it is today.

Celeste Yarnall

This model/actress is often referred to as the hottest of the Star Trek big screen beauties. In fact, in 1968 she was named the “Most Photogenic Beauty of the Year” by the Foreign Press. That phaser was set on stun.

Linked to both the “King” (Elvis Presley) and the Captain, Ms. Yarnall and Mr. Shatner’s romance was rumored to heat up in 1971. For those who believe that beauty isn’t merely skin deep, Ms. Yarnall received her PhD in 1998. Sexy and smart… and sexy. Have a look for yourself.

Angie Dickinson

Speaking of beautiful women… Angie Dickinson co-starred with Mr. Shatner on the big screen in 1974′s Big Bad Mama. And as if we weren’t already head over heels for this blonde bombshell, Dickinson and Shatner took part in a steamy on-screen love scene which has been implanted in our collective mind.

Their relationship may have been short-lived, if it existed at all, but we’re fairly certain that they made every minute together count.

Kirstie Alley

While she’s not best known for her role as Lt. Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Kirstie Alley was rumored to have made a favorable impression on Shatner. There is absolutely no disputing that Ms. Alley was, how should we put it… smoking hot in 1982! And William Shatner was, you know. William Shatner. Need we say more?

Heather Locklear

This is merely speculation, but boy is it fun to play the “Did Shat or Didn’t Shat?” dating game in this case. Ms. Locklear co-starred with Shatner in the hit series T.J. Hooker starting in 1982. They worked together again in 2005 on the show Boston Legal and have long remained close, but it’s much more likely that Shatner in his prime and Locklear, forever one of the hottest women in Hollywood, may have had their moment in the early ’80s. I mean, could you blame her?
